DOCTORAL STUDY ECOLOGICAL SCIENCES

The candidate, included in the doctoral study program “Ecological Sciences”, acquires in-depth theoretical and practical knowledge and skills for independent development of new content and solving the most demanding problems in the wider field of ecology, leading to finding new solutions in science and profession.

The candidate becomes qualified for excellence in independent identification of scientific problems, appropriate planning and performance of scientific research, as well as successful application of new knowledge in practice, both in basic and applied fields of ecology.

Depending on the topic of the doctoral thesis, mentor and elective courses, the candidate also acquires specific competences. According to elective subjects, possible study orientations are vegetation ecology, landscape ecology, marine ecology, ecological processes, conservation biology, biodiversity patterns and processes, geo-informatics and spatial modeling, ethology, entomology, speleobiology, ecotoxicology, biological and environmental education, plant tissue cultures, plant and algal biotechnology, microbiology, cytology and others.
