Candidates enrolled in the he university single major programme Biology acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills related to classical biology (botany, zoology, ecology, physiology) that form the basis for most of the natural sciences and many other biotechnical sciences, while on the other hand they develop knowledge and skills in microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, and project management that open up new opportunities in the fields of science, technology, and sustainability.

The Biology programme aims to train graduate biologists who are able to recognize, understand, and critically evaluate the various components of living nature at different levels of organization (from the molecular to the cellular to the understanding of organisms and communities), as well as provide practical training for scientific research work in biology in the field and in the laboratory.
